Bailey VFD Fire Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month, at the fire station.

Bailey Volunteer Fire Department is a nonprofit organization run on donations by everyday working people in order to provide fire/rescue services to our rural community and surrounding areas

Texas A&M Forest Service has raised the Wildland Fire Preparedness Level to Level 3 due to forecasted conditions, including high temperatures, low humidity, and dry vegetation, that are contributing to an elevated fire risk, along with increased resource commitments for prepositioning.

We continue to monitor the situation and stand ready to respond to any requests for assistance.

Texas A&M Forest Service has raised the Wildland Fire Preparedness Level to Level 2 as the potential for wildfire activity is expected to increase over the next several days, particularly in the High Plains, where high temperatures, low humidity, and dry vegetation is contributing to elevated risk.

Yesterday, our firefighters responded to 8 new wildfires that burned 24,774 acres.

We continue to monitor the situation and stand ready to respond to any requests for assistance.

πŸŒͺ🚨TORNADO WATCH ISSUED 🚨πŸŒͺ

As expected, a tornado watch has been issued for the region. It includes the counties in yellow on the map.

SUMMARY
Intense storm development is expected through late afternoon and early evening, initially and especially across south-central Oklahoma and far northern Texas. Robust supercells capable of very large hail are expected, along with heightened tornado potential, especially in vicinity of the warm front. Damaging wind potential will also steadily increase later this evening as storms progress east-southeastward across the region. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 100 statute miles north and south of a line from 20 miles northwest of Wichita Falls TX to 65 miles northeast of Paris TX. REMEMBER
A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings

Tuesday (03/31/2026) winds are forecasted and expected to be well above 23 mph today. Some portions of Fannin could see winds as high as 35 mph. No Burning today!

Monday (03/30/2026) this week is going to be bipolar weather, today, Monday another No Burn Day winds well above 23 mph. Tuesday the same, possibly severe weather Wednesday and Friday! Folks it is dry, there were multiple fires yesterday and yes even burning green grass!! Make sure trailer chains are secured, this sparked multiple fires along Hwy 82.

Sunday (03-29-2026) another windy day, forecast up to 26 mph. The winds really pick up right around noon.

03/27/2026 (Friday) due to winds forecasted to be at or over 23 mph No Outdoor Burning is allowed. Right now the only good day to do any burning is going to be tomorrow Saturday (March 28th). Sunday looks to be another very windy day with winds forecasted to be above 23 mph. The forecast can change daily, check back with us each morning for updates.
