Says... Hello fbkrs.... I'm tired, but I'm blessed! The 5th Annual Blanket Drive for the homeless was a huge success. I started up the van at 8:15am and cut it off for the last time around 5:30/6pm. The day started off cold, but had pretty blue skies. We all met up at our designated spot and then went into DC. The homeless man that we met about 3 or 4 years ago named Ronnie was still out there... so good too see him and take our yearly picture with him. There were so many people today. We left the park and went to the shelter and from there we went a different route this year. We went to Dale City VA in search of the tent villages that I've heard about. YES... TENT VILLAGES. The people were great and their attitudes on life wasn't hopeless... they just take it one day at a time. Once you see their livin quarters... you will never be the same... we went into the woods with them and they should us around... unbelievable. We gave them blankets and more. Then we hit 3 more shelters, a nursing home and Inova Fairfax Hospital with our remaining donations. Thank you biker/ social families, independent riders and friends... your donations went a mighty long way... those blankets were endless. God blessed our efforts and knows our hearts... Thanks again to; Charles Ckjr Kirkland, Katherine Pollard Hogan, Derwood Shields and Andre... your continued support means a lot. To the So. Md. chapter SC.. Thanks ladies and we hope you enjoyed the experience. —
