Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District

Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District The Park District serves the community by stewardship of parks and providing recreational programs.

For 50 years, the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District has served the community by stewardship of parks and providing recreational and cultural programs to Islanders of all ages. Many of the recent Open Space purchases have been transferred to the Park District, increasing the Island’s park inventory to over 1500 acres, over 90% of which is protected open space. The District is commi

tted to providing a wide variety of leisure programs for all ages and interest groups, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities. The recreation program is supported significantly by user fees, subsidizing your class fees with tax dollars. Park District Social Media Policy can be found on our Policies page at biparks.org/policies/

Thank you, Bainbridge Island!

Your record-setting attendance at our Terry’s Sounds of Summer concert series and our Movies in the Park made for a memorable summer.

Special thanks go to Emily Swift and Angie Bickerton, who organized every concert and movie night from start to finish, and Douglas Slingerland, along with our Park Services staff, who supported setup and kept parking safe and running smoothly all season long.

We're grateful for this community and already looking ahead to next summer. Thank you for making it one to remember.

— Ken DeWitt, Board Chair, & Dan Hamlin, Executive Director
