Our hearts are heavy as we process the loss of an incredible young man, Clay Martin. Clay was a North Powder Rural Fire Protection District volunteer firefighter, rancher, coach, father, and faithful friend. He shared so many talents with this world and will be incredibly missed.

Baker Rural would like to thank the Oregon Department of Forestry - Northeast Oregon District and Cody Kingsbury for providing our Wildland Fire Safety Training annual refresher. This training covers a number of topics that are pertinent to ensuring the safety of our volunteers.

35 firefighters from Greater Bowen Valley Rural Fire Protection District, Sumpter Valley Fire, Powder River Rural Fire Department, Oregon State Fire Marshal and Baker City Fire and Rescue Station 24 participated.
