🚭 May 31 is World No To***co Day 🚭

Join us in helping protect our youth and creating healthier communities free from the harms of to***co and ni****ne addiction.

Did you know?
β€’ Most adult smokers started before the age of 18
β€’ Va**ng and ni****ne products can affect brain development in youth
β€’ To***co use increases the risk of heart disease, cancer, lung disease, and mental health challenges

πŸ’‘ Ways you can help protect youth:
βœ” Talk openly with kids and teens about the risks of to***co and va**ng
βœ” Be a positive role model by living to***co-free
βœ” Support to***co-free schools, parks, and community spaces
βœ” Encourage healthy coping skills like sports, art, music, and outdoor activities

Every conversation, every choice, and every effort makes a difference. Together, we can help young people build healthier futures.

πŸ’š Mental Health Matters β€” and So Do You πŸ’š

Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. Everyone experiences stress, challenges, and difficult emotions at times, and it is okay to ask for help.

You are not alone, and support is available.

πŸ’‘ Mental health tips:
βœ” Stay connected with friends, family, and supportive people
βœ” Take breaks and give yourself time to rest and recharge
βœ” Get regular physical activity, even short walks can help
βœ” Eat balanced meals and stay hydrated
βœ” Limit screen time and social media when it feels overwhelming
βœ” Practice simple stress relief techniques like deep breathing or journaling
βœ” Reach out for help when you need it β€” support is a sign of strength

If you or someone you know is struggling, reaching out can make a difference. Talking to a trusted person or a mental health professional is an important step toward healing.

πŸ’¬ In the U.S., you can call or text 988 anytime to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Let’s continue to support each other and break the stigma around mental health.

β˜€οΈ National Heat Awareness Day – May 29 β˜€οΈ

As temperatures begin to rise, it is important to stay aware of the dangers of heat-related illness and dehydration.

Dehydration is one of those preventable conditions that, if ignored, can lead to more serious health problems. Experts recommend drinking around eight glasses of water a day to help maintain proper hydration. Water not only keeps your body hydrated, but it also helps flush toxins from the body and supports overall health.

πŸ’§ Heat safety tips:
βœ” Drink water throughout the day β€” even if you are not thirsty
βœ” Avoid sugary, caffeinated, or alcoholic drinks when spending time in the heat
βœ” Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
βœ” Take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas
βœ” Never leave children or pets in vehicles
βœ” Check on older adults, neighbors, and those at higher risk during extreme heat

Knowing the signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration can help save lives. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and help spread awareness this summer.
