Just a reminder for next week, the Forest Service is hosting a series of public meetings to discuss the Blue Mountains Forest Plan Revision.

These meetings will allow the public to learn about and comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement.

The public meetings are planned for the first two weeks of June and will be offered in person and virtually to ensure the public has ample opportunity to engage.

🌲There has been one slight change to the location for the Heppner June 1 meeting, it will now be held across the street at the Heppner Ranger District Office. See the revised schedule for the address.

A detailed schedule is available on the Forest Service website at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r06/umatilla/planning/public-engagement-and-participation

The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest has prepared a Request for Expressed Interest (RFEI) to determine levels of interest in potential future campground concession opportunities for sites in the Northern Elkhorn Mountains and Powder River Basin Areas. Responses to this request will help determine whether a prospectus should be issued and inform considerations such as permit quantities, site selections, and types of services to be included in any future solicitations.
