Today we’re proud to donate Engine 11-1 to the Blackman Fire District.

🔥 1/30/2026 Prescribed Burn Notification 🔥

A prescribed burn is scheduled for today starting at 9:00 AM, covering approximately 440 acres east of Hwy 189 and west of Rock Hill Road near the state line.

⚠️ Please use caution:
Smoke will be present in the area and may impact visibility, particularly near the state line. Motorists are encouraged to slow down, remain alert, and use headlights when traveling through affected areas.

🔥 Prescribed Burn Notification 🔥

Florida Forestry will be conducting a new prescribed burn of approximately 960 acres east of the N Hwy 189 Karick Lake area and Lee Cook Road around 9am, within Blackman.

A secondary burn will also occur near Riley Barnhill Road.

⚠️ Use caution:
Smoke will be present and is expected to drift eastward, potentially impacting visibility in surrounding areas. Motorists should slow down, remain alert, and use headlights as needed.

The Blackman Fire District has been notified that Conecuh National Forest in Alabama is also burning a 2000 acre parcel just across the state line. We will likely have smoke from several burns in our area. Please drive safely.

Today, Florida Forestry crews will be conducting a 450 acre prescribed burn north of Upper Karick Lake Road and east of Hwy 189 N, beginning around 8:00 AM.

Smoke visible in the area throughout the day
Fire personnel and equipment operating in and around the burn area
Temporary changes in visibility on nearby roadways
