UPDATE: Kennedy is home safe, per her family. Thank you everyone for the concern and shares.

Help us find a missing/runaway teen. Kennedy Morrison was reported missing by her mother and was last seen 24 hours ago. She is 15 years of age and it’s unknown what she was last wearing. It’s believed that she has fled home with an adult male she may have met online. We believe she is still in the Baker/Baton Rouge area. If you know her whereabouts, please contact the Baker Police Department at 225-775-6000 and ask to speak with someone in Criminal Investigations.

Please be safe this weekend as you honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Update on Baker Schools being locked down:

A shooting occurred on Oakbend at Hope Street in Baker, La. An individual drove in to a family members home on that street. On the way in, this person called 911 and spoke with 911 operators with the EBR Sheriffs Office saying someone was going to get shot.

Once at Oakbend, this subject produced a bolt action rifle and fired shots. No one was hurt. Responding Officers with the Baker Police Department took this individual into custody without incident.

This suspect was then evaluated by EMS and transported for treatment, possibly under the influence of unknown substances and having a mental health episode.

14:94 Illegal Use of Dangerous Weapons.

At no time where students or staff at any schools in danger from this incident and were placed on lock down as a precaution due to proximity to the scene.
