The Woolworth’s Building is honored to be recognized among California’s finest in preservation!

As one of the last surviving Woolworth stores in the country, and home to the last operating Woolworth Luncheonette in the US, this recognition carries even deeper meaning.

Awarded by and selected by a jury of preservation professionals, the honor reflects the care taken to thoughtfully restore a historic space while giving it new life for the community it serves today.

What started with a building permit and 11 months of construction by Jackson Brothers of Los Angeles has become the Woolworths we know and love today. Built at 1400 19th Street on a 97×115-foot lot, the three-story building with a basement now hosts an event space downstairs, aka The Basement, the Luncheonette serving classic favorites, and new tenants like Moneywise Wealth Management on the second floor and Reverb Coffee on the corner of 19th and K!
