Thousands of Kern County families are at risk of losing access to critical food support due to new federal work/volunteer requirements.

We're working to create a collaboration of non profits and businesses who can offer volunteer opportunities to these individuals so they can maintain access to the vital support.

We were honored to welcome youth from Pyles’ Boys Camp to CAPK Food Bank for a day of service, teamwork, and community impact.

Through their program, these young men are learning leadership, responsibility, and the importance of giving back to the communities they come from. From packing food boxes to working together on the line, they saw firsthand how their efforts can help families facing hardship.

It was inspiring to watch them serve with compassion and pride, knowing the work they were doing would make a difference for neighbors in need.

Good Neighbor Day America brought our community together through kindness, service, and connection.

From free hot dogs and games to face painting, toy giveaways, and moments of fellowship, the day was filled with joy and generosity for families across our community. As our nation looks ahead to its 250th anniversary, it was inspiring to see so many people come together to show what it truly means to love and serve their neighbors.

We’re proud to partner with Upside Academy Inc. to empower the next generation through service and community impact.

For many of these students, this was their first time volunteering and seeing firsthand how their efforts can make a real difference for families in need. What began with uncertainty quickly turned into confidence, joy, and purpose as they packed hundreds of food boxes for families across our community.

Together, we exceeded the goal of 300 boxes, reaching 385 in just an hour and a half for Upside Academy’s 12th Annual Christmas in the Neighborhood giveaway last year.

We’re grateful for partners like Upside Academy who continue investing in local youth while helping strengthen our community one box at a time.

We loved welcoming local Girl Scouts troops back to CAPK Food Bank for another day of giving back. From packing boxes to working together on the line, these young volunteers showed the power of compassion, collaboration, and community service in action.
