Happy Birthday to the one and only Mr. Ely 🎉
The know-it-all (and we mean that in the best way), the guy our whole team leans on to learn just about everything, and the grumpy, yet big hearted old man we wouldn’t trade for anything. You’ve become such an important part of our team, and honestly, there’s no one else quite like you.
We appreciate the knowledge, the laughs, and even the grumbles 😄
Cheers to another trip around the sun, Doug. Wishing you a great year ahead!

Let’s all take a moment to celebrate someone who keeps everything running like clockwork, our Records Sergeant, Ms. Crawford, because it’s her birthday! 🎉🎂
Ms. Crawford is one of our behind the scene team member, she is who somehow keeps us all on track (no small task!). Whether she’s managing records or keeping things moving behind the scenes, she does it all with dedication, and a great sense of humor.
Today, we get to flip the script and celebrate her! 🥳
Join us in wishing Ms. Crawford a very happy birthday and thanking her for everything she does for our team and our community. Drop your birthday wishes in the comments and help us make her day extra special!
🎈 Happy Birthday, Ms. Crawford! We appreciate you more than you know! 🎈

During the month of February 2026, our team was honored to be part of a collaborative effort dedicated to strengthening our community through connection, resources, and support.
Project Kern the Tide is a youth-led safety initiative under the Dream Builders Project and the Jim Burke Education Foundation based in Bakersfield, CA. Team Kern Steel Fabrication Inc. proudly partnered with Bakersfield Search and Rescue to help promote water safety along the Kern River, with the shared goal of preventing drownings and increasing awareness about the dangers of the river. 🌊
Thank you for recognizing our team and allowing us to stand alongside others who are working to make a difference across Kern County. Together, we are creating positive change and addressing real community needs.
We are also incredibly grateful for the charitable donation awarded to our team. As an all-volunteer and nonprofit organization, we depend on the generosity and support of our community to continue our mission. Your support helps us keep serving, educating, and protecting our community.
We’re proud to serve—and even prouder to be part of something bigger than ourselves. 🧡

Each year, the Bakersfield High School Agricultural Program participates in the Trout in the Classroom Project, an incredible hands-on experience where students raise trout in their classroom before releasing them into the Kern River. 🐟🌊
This year, the trout were released in the Hart Park area! During the release event, our team had the opportunity to speak with students about river and waterway safety, helping connect their classroom learning to real-world conservation, fisheries stewardship, and responsible outdoor recreation.
Events like this make an important impact on the health of our river and help shape the future of our community’s youth. By giving students the chance to experience conservation firsthand, they gain a deeper appreciation for our natural resources and the responsibility we all share in protecting them for generations to come. 🌱💧

Happy Birthday to our fearless Search & Rescue Captain, Fuentez! 🎉🚁
Leading a team like ours isn’t easy, but you take on the enormous responsibility of guiding us through every mission and making sure we all make it back home safe. Your leadership, dedication, and calm under pressure inspire us every day out in the field.
Today we celebrate the person who keeps us organized, focused, and ready for whatever the mission throws our way. Thank you for the countless hours, the tough calls, and the steady leadership when it matters most.
Here’s to a well deserved day of celebration. Cheers to you on your special day, Captain Fuentez! 🥳🎂

There’s something powerful about a community that shows up for its children.
This past week, our amazing volunteers spent a few hours reading with students at Crescent Elementary School, and it’s safe to say the experience was just as meaningful for our members as it was for the kids. The laughter, curiosity, and excitement in the room reminded us how important it is to invest our time and attention in the next generation.
Moments like these show that community engagement doesn’t have to be complicated, sometimes it’s as simple as sharing a story and a smile.
We’re grateful to our volunteers who continue to make a difference and to the students who made the day so memorable. Honestly, we’re still not sure who had more fun, the kids or our members!
Together, we can keep building a stronger, brighter future for our children. 📚✨

This weekend our team was back on rope for rappel training, continuing to sharpen one of the most critical skills we use in the field. 🧗‍♂️
Rappelling is a technique our Search and Rescue team regularly relies on to safely access areas that can’t be reached by foot or vehicle. Whether it’s steep terrain, remote canyons, or difficult cliffside environments, this skill allows our team to reach people who need help when every minute counts.
Training like this isn’t just about getting down the rope, it’s about doing it safely, consistently, and as a team. We spend countless hours practicing rigging, communication, equipment checks, and controlled descents to ensure every member operates with safety as the top priority.
These trainings help ensure that when the call comes in, our team is prepared, confident, and ready to operate in some of the most challenging environments.
Thank you to our dedicated volunteers who continue to put in the time and effort to maintain these critical skills so we can better serve our community.
