With the holidays nearly upon us, I am attempting to get done with the prototype of the MDR 'Khyaam' and swiftly into production of it... This will be a true Jamb Peg type machine with all the modern features of good faceting units..The original Jamb Peg units were in use 450 years ago and underwent many design changes.

This new design is taken from a little know tool called the 'Willams Faceting Device' a tool that never got into common use after WW2.

This device was different than the previous Jamb Pegs in that it had a calibrated row of 32 divisions around the dop / peg and an adjustment ring on this tool, allowed the cutter to reset the redopped stone's alignment, to match top to bottom..

A really good idea, but the device didn't use dops, the stone was attached directly onto the handpiece.

The new design utilizes the Willams design of a fishtail on the handpiece to prevent misaligned cutting problems with the inexperienced operator on the Jamb Peg.

The new design uses an Index gear on the handpiece and is set for cutting by index, using the action of a spring loaded dop / peg.

The new design is rugged, accurate and will be coming into the marketplace well under $400.00.

All the newbie, novice and wannabe cutters who can't afford a new machine, keep watching here... I will post the new design in a few days.

Don't buy the Asian crap out there, BUY AMERICAN, BUY QUALITY.

I am presently sitting on a few older MDR 'Master' Machines that have been replaced by the new model... These are excellent machines and are offered less motor, laps, dops, pulley, tank, electronic digital protractor and dial indicator. These are ready to be mounted up and are super easy to install ...These are not used machines and I will ship one to you for just $350.00 us dollars (in the USA) else where at actual additional cost... I need the room in the shop so HMU.

Well the summer furnace heat is here.. The Central valley of California is well known to have lots of summer heat and with the recent earthquakes, we're now truly shake and bake...

In spite of this, I have been coordinating with my CNC people to prepare the MDR 'Radiant' machine for it's 2020 debut .

This new model has it all: 1" Square Mast, Rack and Geared Pinion Elevator, 2 easy to use Vernier's (cheaters) and Easy To Read numerical elevation numbers...

I'll post photos as soon as it is available....

MDR the easiest to use faceting machine design in the world market...

If you want to become a true professional gem faceter, you need an MDR...
