Our dear Friend, Dixie Foote (El Dorado), lost her beloved knight in shining armor, Bob Foote, on August 8, 2025. Their love story endured 60 years and it is one for the tender record books. As you know, Dixie and Bob settled in Georgia recently to be near their daughter, Teri, and her family. Dixie has shared Bob’s obituary (below), and I captured a photo from her page that depicts Bob’s wonderful spirit of adventure and love for the road and his cherished wife. Please keep Dixie and their family in prayer as their loss is profound, but their faith is strong and intact. Rest in peace, dear Bob. You were always kind, solid, and a gentle man. Holding you close in prayer, dear Dixie.
Robert D. “Bob” Foote was born to Roman S. and Cora George Foote on July 28, 1946 in Auburn, California. A graduate of Highlands High School in 1964 Bob was employed at North Highlands Auto Supply rising to the position of Counterman. It was during that time he married Dixie Pipkin, sharing a love that endured 60 years till death they did part. Bob became a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy in 1969, serving as patrolman, Field Training Officer and Detective for a career spanning 30 years. Throughout his adult life and retirement years his second love was motorcycle touring, near and wide, coast to coast, Mexico to Canada. Bob’s chronic heart failure took its final toll on August 8, 2025, when he passed peacefully at home in Cu***ng, Georgia leaving behind his brother Ray Foote, wife Dixie Foote, son Robert Tracy Foote and wife Cecilyn, daughter Teri Putnam and husband Aaron, grandchildren Madison Foote, Marley Foote, Ella Putnam and Ethan Putnam.
