The Bakersfield Fire Department, in partnership with the Bakersfield Police Department, continues to actively enforce illegal fireworks laws throughout the July 4th holiday season.

To date, approximately 7,000 pounds of illegal fireworks have been seized, and two individuals have been arrested with cases submitted to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Illegal fireworks can cause serious injuries, fires, and property loss. Our goal is to protect lives, property, and the community.

Report illegal fireworks at BakersfieldCity.us/233/Fire. Please do not call 911 unless there is an immediate threat to life or property.
