Showers and thunderstorms will develop on Wednesday. There is a Marginal to Slight risk for a few severe thunderstorms across southern Missouri and southeast Kansas. Damaging wind gusts to 60 mph is the primary hazard, with quarter sized hail and locally heavy rainfall also possible. The greatest severe thunderstorm risk is between 2pm-8pm.

Severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening, capable of producing damaging wind gusts, hail up to the size of quarters, and locally heavy rain. There is uncertainty in the timing and coverage of storms, so check back for updates.

Showers and storms will develop overnight and move across southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. There is a very low chance for a severe storm west of Springfield. Frequent lightning will be the more likely hazard with overnight storms.

Showers and storms will develop across southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri overnight through Monday morning. Rainfall amounts will be highly variable with localized bands of heavy rainfall. Locations northeast of Springfield will see the least amount of rainfall. Any flooding will remain highly localized.
