🎒📚 CAPK Energy Supports Friendship House School Backpack Giveaway 📚🎒

On August 8, 2026, CAPK Energy was proud to attend the School Backpack Giveaway at the Friendship House Community Center, where families gathered to prepare for the upcoming school year. The event provided backpacks to students of all ages while supplies lasted and connected families with valuable community resources.

In addition to backpack distribution, attendees enjoyed free food, children's haircuts, raffles, and access to family support services from community partners. These resources and activities helped create a fun and supportive environment for local families as they got ready for the new school year.

Thank you to Friendship House Community Center, the vendors, volunteers, and community organizations that made this event a success. CAPK Energy was honored to share information about our programs and connect with families throughout the day. 💙

🎒📚 CAPK Energy Joins East Bakersfield Back-to-School Event 📚🎒

CAPK Energy was proud to participate in the East Bakersfield Back to School: Ready. Set. Learn! event held on August 9, 2026, at Vintage Cutz.

This community event brought together local organizations and businesses to help students prepare for a successful school year. Families received free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, clothing items, and lunch, helping ease back-to-school expenses and ensure children had the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

Our team enjoyed connecting with families, sharing information about CAPK Energy programs and services, and supporting a collaborative effort focused on strengthening our community.

Helping families prepare for a successful school year starts with community.

On August 6, CAPK Energy proudly participated in the 17th Annual Ready-Set Back 2 School Health & Wellness Fair hosted by Kern County Child Support Services. Families enjoyed access to free backpacks, school supplies, shoes, health and wellness services, valuable community resources, and fun activities throughout the day.

With more than 90 organizations in attendance, the event showcased the power of partnerships in supporting children and families across Kern County. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to learn more about CAPK Energy's programs and services.

The CAPK Energy Team was excited to participate in the 2026 East Bakersfield Festival at Jefferson Park! Hosted by Children First, this free community event brought together families, local organizations, and service providers for a day filled with music, activities, and valuable community resources.

Our team enjoyed connecting with residents, sharing information about energy assistance programs, and helping families learn about resources that can reduce utility costs and improve home energy efficiency. Thank you to the event organizers and all the community partners who helped make this celebration a success. We look forward to continuing to serve and support the East Bakersfield community.

The CAPK Energy Team was proud to participate in La Colonia’s first annual “El Día del Niño/Cinco de Mayo” celebration in Shafter’s Mexican Colony. This family-focused community event brought together residents and local organizations to celebrate culture, connect families with valuable resources, and strengthen community partnerships.

We enjoyed sharing information about our energy assistance programs and services while connecting with community members. The event also featured participation from Bakersfield American Indian Health Project, Kern Family Health Care, the Center on Race, Poverty & the Environment, Los Generales Car Club, and Shafter High School. Thank you to La Colonia and all of the partnering organizations for making this inaugural event such a success!

The CAPK Energy Team enjoyed spending time with students, parents, and community members at Crescent School's Parent Resource Fair. As part of the school's Open House and Family Picnic, we had the opportunity to share information about the services and resources available through our program and connect with families in a fun and welcoming environment. Thank you to Crescent School for inviting us to participate in this special event and for helping strengthen connections between families and community resources.

As part of the school’s Open House and Family Picnic, we shared information about our programs and resources designed to help families save energy and reduce utility costs.
