Due to below-freezing temps on Thursday, Feb. 5, we will not be operating. And we are going to go ahead and call off operation on Friday as well.

Our plan is to begin normal operation on Monday, Feb. 9, on a one-hour delay.

UPDATE: Mitchell County Transportation and the Pine Line WILL NOT be operating tomorrow, Wed. Feb. 4th. Secondary Roads, driveways, and walkways are still covered with ice and snow. If anyone needs medication, food, or water, call 828-688-9110. This is Mitchell County Communications. They will contact someone within the county or the fire departments to bring you what you need. We realize some people are now 10 days stuck at home.

Once again, we will be out checking the road situation today. We sincerely would love to operate tomorrow on roads that are safe for our drivers, passengers, and vehicles. If anyone is in desperate need of medications, food, or water, you may call the office, and we will work with the county EM to see that you get what you need.

Morning, we realize some of our passengers may need to purchase supplies. We are checking road conditions today. We will post here later today about the possibility of limited operation tomorrow. We will post the info on this page, the county website, and also WTOE/WKYK.

Due to the weather forecast, Mitchell County Transportation and the Pine Line will not be operating on Monday, Jan. 26, or Tuesday, Jan. 27. If you are a Mitchell County resident needing to access supplies before the storm, PLEASE CALL US TODAY, and we will do our best to get you to those supplies before this storm hits. There may be snow, ice, and bitter cold, followed by a possible power outage. We learned from Helene, so prepare as if you were in the weeks after Helene..
