Ms. Felicia has an awesome Nature theme planned for you on Monday! Avery and Mitchell friends we are talking about school readiness this week, because lots of folks are getting ready to start preschool or Kindergarten! But don’t let that deter those of you with little ones, we are going to focus on how to support school readiness from the very beginning!!

📢 Office Closing Notice

Please note that the Toe River Health District (Avery County Health Department and Mitchell County Health Department) will close today at 12:00 PM so our team can enjoy a Staff Appreciation Picnic.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated employees who work each day to serve our communities with compassion, professionalism, and care. Today is an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and thank them for all they do.

Bring your furry (and feathered!) family members to the FREE Vaccination Clinic in either Avery or Mitchell County (see flyer for more details).

Vaccines provided by licensed vets to keep pets healthy and protect our community. No appointment needed — walk-ins welcome. Spread the word and bring a leash or carrier, & any vaccination records if you have them.
