🔥 FINAL BEANS CREEK FIRE UPDATE 🔥

The Beans Creek Fire is now 100% contained. Melton Branch Road and the housing community of Shootout Mountain have returned to normal status.

We encourage residents residents to remain mindful of wildfire safety:
Avoid outdoor burning during windy or dry conditions
Never leave burn piles unattended
Properly extinguish campfires and smoking materials
Report smoke or fire immediately to 911

We are incredibly thankful for the dedicated firefighters, emergency responders, NC Forest Service personnel, volunteers, and community members who worked together throughout this incident.

🚨 BEANS CREEK BRUSH FIRE UPDATE 🚨

The Beans Creek Brush Fire is now at 90% containment.

Melton Branch Road and the housing community of Shootout Mountain will remain under a “READY” status according to the Ready, Set, Go Wildfire Action Plan.

A READY status means residents should stay aware of fire conditions, review evacuation plans, and be prepared to act if conditions change.

🔥 BEANS CREEK FIRE UPDATE 🔥

The Beans Creek Fire is now at 60%

Melton Branch Road and the housing community of Shoot Out Mountain have now been moved down to a READY status under the Ready, Set, Go Wildfire Action Plan.

A READY status means residents should stay alert and aware of fire conditions. Residents should continue monitoring updates closely.

Thank you to all emergency personnel and partner agencies working to protect our community.

The next update will be provided tomorrow evening.

Beans Creek brush fire will now have one evening update per day unless situations change.

CSX will be closing the road near 197 and Old Forbes road for repairs this morning. It will be opening back this afternoon. Time TBD.

As of this afternoon, the Beans Creek Fire remains at approximately 30 acres with 30% containment.

Melton Branch Road and the housing community of Shoot Out Mountain remain under a “SET” status according to the Ready, Set, Go Wildfire Action Plan.

️However, residents are strongly encouraged to remain prepared should conditions change and a “GO” evacuation status become necessary.

🚨BEANS CREEK FIRE UPDATE 🚨

The BEANS CREEK Fire has now grown to approximately 15 acres and is currently at 0% containment.

At this time, Melton Branch Road and the housing community of Shoot Out Mountain remain under a “SET” status according to the Ready, Set, Go Wildfire Action Plan.

THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO ACTIVE EVACUATIONS
However, this remains a WARNING for residents to stay prepared in the event conditions worsen and a “GO” evacuation status becomes necessary.

The North Carolina Forest Service and Fork Mountain Fire Department is now operating in Unified Command alongside local emergency responders. Agencies currently assisting on scene include:

Green Valley Fire Department
Banner Elk Fire Department
Crossnore Fire Department
Pensacola Fire Department

Residents in affected areas should:
✔️ Have bags packed and ready
✔️ Prepare vehicles and evacuation plans
✔️ Stay alert for emergency updates and changing conditions

3) Prescriptions, Vitamins & Eyeglasses
4) Pictures & Irreplaceable Memorabilia
