Hey Mitchell County! September is here and bets are we are all having a little extra spicy anxiety happening. If you are a weather watcher there is some sporty action in them big waters to our east that we should keep an eye on. She’s way out there so there’s a lot of ballgame yet. Since September is preparedness month you should check supplies so you are ready for things that might keep you at home. Keep in mind them kiddos are back at school and that means the germs are making their rounds so everyone is hacking and sneezing, scrub-a-dub with soap and water cause that hand sanitizer can open them pores to let germs in. Stay smart and try not to overachieve with the stupid stuff. Call us if you need us!

A cold front will push east of the area later this morning, ushering in a much drier air mass than we are used to. This will be the warmest day of the week as the cooler air really settles in behind the cold front. Expect the cooler, drier air mass to stick around through the end of the month into the first of September.

Hey Mitchell County! Must have jumped a matrix or two and lost track of time. Ready or not football season has arrived and that means the all year hoodie wearing peeps can take a normal breath. It also means that the inside penguin weather starts moving outside. Carry your rain gear cause those forecasts look like the ducks will be happy for the next few days. Watch the water on the roads and be smart when there is ponding we sure don’t need a MitcHELL County episode of that show related to a donkey showing up on the interweb. Stay safe, stay strong, check on your neighbors and call 911 for any needs.

At the Post-Helene Town Hall last week, community members expressed concerns regarding potential remaining right-of-way debris across Mitchell County. In response, the county has established an online reporting tool for property owners to identify any debris still located within the public right-of-way.

Reports submitted through the survey are compiled in real time and sent directly to the contracted debris removal team for action. Please note: this reporting tool is strictly for debris located in the right-of-way, not on private property.

To access the survey, download the Mitchell Ready App and locate it under the News/Press Release section, or visit wearemitchell.org.
