Big news for City Ave District🎉

City Ave District has been awarded $1 million through the Main Street Matters program to support the rehabilitation of the historic property at 202 Bala Avenue and to catalyze future mixed-use development in the heart of Bala Cynwyd.

This investment will help transform the long-vacant property into new commercial and residential space while supporting broader revitalization efforts along Bala Avenue, 54th Street, and 63rd Street.

Special thanks to Governor Josh Shapiro, State Representative Mary Jo Daley, State Representative Morgan Cephas, Senator Amanda Cappelletti, and Senator Vincent Hughes for their partnership and continued support of Main Street revitalization efforts across our communities.

The $1 million award builds on recent momentum for City Ave District, which was newly designated as a Main Street Matters community by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development under Josh Shapiro’s administration.

We’re excited to continue building vibrant, walkable business corridors that support small businesses, residents, and mixed-use development.

We are excited to announce a very cool volunteer opportunity happening next week!

Musician Dar Williams and Rising Sun Presents are bringing a festival to town next month in King of Prussia called "River Roads". This festival is special because it's not only hosting great music (10,000 Maniacs, Billy Bragg, Shawn Colvin, and more) but it's also dedicated to environmental stewardship and watershed protection. We love it!

As part of their commitment to local environmental action, Dar and River Roads will be partnering with us at the Conservancy to host a community volunteer day at our riparian restoration site at Harriton Preserve.

Dar will join us on May 28th from 3-5PM to contribute to the ongoing restoration efforts and wants you to join! Volunteers will be entered to win two premium passes to the River Roads Festival on June 27. Registration is required and space is limited. If you'd like to join us, visit the volunteer section at www.riverroadsfestival.com .
