Did you know? Beginning in September, the Balch Springs Library will offer THREE Storytimes for different age groups! We will host the following Storytimes:

📕Baby Bookworms: A half hour lap-sit program that features easy to follow rhymes, songs, and books. Recommended for caregivers and their babies up to one year of age. This program takes place every Monday at 10:30 AM, beginning September 14th.

📘Toddler Storytime: An early literacy program designed to support the beginning stages of reading and learning. This program is recommended for caregivers and their toddlers ages 15 months to 3 years. This storytime takes place every Tuesday at 10:30 AM.

📗Preschool Storytime: Join us at this storytime for learning, reading, music, and movement. This program is recommended for caregivers and their children ages 3-5. It will take place every Wednesday at 10:30 AM.

Grab your blankets, lawn chairs, and favorite movie snacks for an unforgettable evening under the stars! Join us on Friday, September 18th for a free family-friendly movie screening of Vivo in Veterans Memorial Park. Bring your family, invite your friends, and enjoy a night of laughter, adventure, and community as we transform the park into your neighborhood movie theater!

Calling all romance readers! The Balch Springs Library has just the book club for you. Join us on September 19th for this inaugural meeting where we will talk all things romance, play games, and determine the first title to be read in our Romance Book Club. A limited number of copies of the selected title will then be provided for those in attendance. This program is for adults 18+ and future meeting locations are to be determined.

We're excited to announce that Tween and Teen Time will begin in September at the Balch Springs Library! Teen Time will take place every first and third Tuesday at 4:30 PM and is open to teens in grades 8-12. Tween Time will take place every second and fourth Thursday at 4:30 PM and is open to tweens in grades 4-7.

These programs will give tweens and teens the opportunity to socialize, learn new skills, be creative, and have fun! For any questions about Tween and Teen Time, please contact the library at (972) 913-3000.

Our Community Career Fair is one week away!

Join us next Saturday, August 22nd from 11 AM to 1 PM for a day of networking, job opportunities, and career growth as we connect jobseekers with top employers in the area. Bring copies of your resume and come dressed to impress to find your next career path. Some of the vendors in attendance include Dallas ISD Transportation, First Convenience Bank, Whataburger, Bear Creek Family Dentistry, and more!

Yesterday, the Balch Springs Library completed this summer's Nourish2Flourish program! Throughout this 10-week program, our library distributed over 1,400 "Take & Go" meal packages that included 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches, and 5 snacks. In addition, over 400 families received a meal package from our library this summer!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Sharing Life Food Pantry, whose partnership allowed this program to be possible.

We are so proud to have been able to support our community’s children with nutritious meals this summer! We hope that the Balch Springs Library can continue to provide the community with needed resources all year round.

Dino Summer was our busiest and best summer at the library yet! We brought in over 3,000 more visitors to our library than last summer and had over half a million pages read by participants in our Summer Reading Program. A huge thank you to everyone who visited the library this summer and took part in the fun! 🦖📚✨

That's a wrap on dinosaur summer at the Balch Springs Library! Thank you to everyone who came and spent the afternoon dancing with us at our Dino Rave: End of the Summer Party. We had a blast celebrating the summer with you!
