September is National Attendance Awareness Month! 🎒📚

At Baldwin Park Unified, we know that being present is about more than just showing up. Every day at school is an opportunity to learn, build friendships, connect, grow, and develop habits that support future success. ⭐

This month, we encourage our students to make every school day count by participating, trying their best, staying engaged, and supporting one another. 💪🏽

Throughout the month, schools across Baldwin Park Unified may highlight this meaningful initiative through campus activities, spirit themes, resources and opportunities that promote mental health awareness and remind students that support is always available. 🎒📚💜🤝

📣Join us at Baldwin Park High School for a special Grand Opening celebrating two newly upgraded learning spaces: the Esports Center and Sports Medicine Learning Center (right before back-to-school night)! 🎮🏃‍♀️

⭐These newly refreshed classrooms give students hands-on opportunities to explore highly marketable fields and future pathways: from sports medicine, recovery, wellness and pre-med to gaming, entertainment, esports competition, game creation and marketing. 🎓

🎉 5-5:40 p.m. | Grand Opening Ceremonies at the Quad Stage, followed by Ribbon Cutting and Tours of both new learning spaces

Equipping Our Youth, Empowering Our Future! 💻🎓

Yesterday, with the support of LA County First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, Baldwin Park Unified was proud to equip 40 recent graduates with new laptops to support their next steps after high school. 🎁

Graduates from North Park, Baldwin Park High, and Sierra Vista High School received new laptops to use as they pursue college, career and other postsecondary goals. 👨‍🏫👩‍🏫

During a special ceremony, Ryan Serrano from Supervisor Solis’ office joined Board of Education members and Superintendent Dr. Mendoza to celebrate students and recognize the meaningful impact this contribution will have on their futures. Students were introduced along with their plans for what comes next and each took home a new laptop, software vouchers and well-deserved recognition as they move forward toward their goals. 🌟

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Supervisor Hilda L. Solis for her continued investment in Baldwin Park students. Providing our graduates with access to technology helps ensure they have the resources they need to take their next steps with confidence. 👏

⭐️ Today, Tracy Elementary Trojans enjoyed a special visit from California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, who stopped by to highlight their literacy growth! 📚

✨Tracy is leading the way by implementing new strategies, programs and staff collaboration that have helped strengthen reading across campus. The visit included reading together, sharing stories, and talking with educators about why literacy matters and how we can continue this important work. 👏

📣 Shoutout to their literacy coach Ms. Claudia Barba who was recognized for her efforts, Tracy teachers, staff and families who make literacy a full-circle effort at Tracy. 📖

BPUSD had an amazing time connecting with families, students, staff, and the community at this year’s Pride of the Valley 5K & 10K and National Night Out. 🏃‍♀️🎖️🎒💙

☀️At the Pride of the Valley, it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces running, walking, cheering, making posters, and celebrating our community together. 👏📣

🚔During National Night Out, families prepared for the new school year by picking up free school supplies, meeting school leaders and connecting with local first responders and community partners.✏️📓
