A few photos of Baldwin Fire Rescue engine 2 and truck 1 at a stand by detail in West Homestead Boro earlier this week. Baldwin Fire Rescue was requested to stand by due to a large fire in Munhall Boro tying up many of the fire departments in the Mon Valley area. Just before clearing our detail, we assisted Homestead Fire Department and West Mifflin #3 Fire Department at a fire alarm in the 100 block of East 10th Ave within Homestead Boro. Thankfully, the fire alarm ended up being a false alarm, and Baldwin Units returned in service without any issue. Solid work to all units involved at both calls. πŸš’πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’

πŸš¨πŸš’ THANK YOU, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)! πŸš’πŸš¨

We would like to give a huge thank you to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for our recent roadway project request to paint Streets Run Road in front of Station 2 with β€œKEEP LANE CLEAR” markings.

These markings are critical in keeping the firehouse apron clear of traffic backed up from Rt. 51 so our fire trucks can safely and quickly respond to emergencies. Every second counts when lives are on the line, and this improvement helps ensure we can continue to serve our community without delay.

We greatly appreciate PennDOT’s support and partnership in keeping both our firefighters and the Baldwin community safe. And believe it or not, members have already noticed a significant change to the way many drivers no longer stop their cars in traffic right outside our fire station anymore.πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’β€οΈπŸ‘©β€πŸš’

On Friday, September 26th 2025, Baldwin Fire Rescue was invited by Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire to attend a firework event at The Academy Schools on Agnew Road in North Baldwin. BFR members brought the aerial fire truck, Drone, and our new side by side vehicle. Attendees of the event got an opportunity to see these vehicles and equipment up close, and we all got to sit back and enjoy the fireworks afterwards. Aerial photos and video captured with 106 Drone 1. Thank you to Pittsburgh Fire and everyone who attended and stopped by to say hello, we hope you all had a safe and enjoyable time!

This Thursday for drill, your Baldwin Boro Firefighters utilized an acquired structure in the Boro located at Streets Run Rd and Brentwood Rd. Firefighters practiced and reviewed hydrant operations, setting up the aerial (the fire truck with the gigantic ladder on top of it) as well as hoseline advancement and fire suppression. Next week, firefighters will be focusing on forcible entry, search and rescue techniques, as well as roof ventilation operations. We greatly appreciate the oppurtunity to use an acquired structure to help give Firefighters real world style training. Its not everyday we get an oppurtunity like this, and we will be utilising it as best we can! πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ”₯πŸš’

For the past 2 weeks, Thursday night drill for Baldwin Boro firefighters consisted of vehicle rescue and stabilization techniques. All 3 fire stations currently utilize various types of rescue equipment, so members of each station got a chance to use each other's equipment to become better familiarized. Many of our members also have advanced levels of vehicle rescue and did a fantastic job teaching our newer, less experienced members on proper and safe techniques for handling vehicle accidents and patient care. Stay tuned for this weeks Thursday night drill, its shaping up to be a good one! πŸš’πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ”₯ If your interested in becoming a member, stop down to any of the 3 Baldwin Fire Stations on any Thursday night at around 7pm! Or, send us a message on any of our facebook accounts!

🚨 Exciting News for Baldwin Fire Rescue! 🚨

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a generous grant from Norfolk Southern for the purchase of a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). Today we have taken ownership of a 2025 Polaris Ranger 1000XP Crew.

This new equipment will be a tremendous asset for our department to enhance our ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in areas that are difficult to access with traditional fire apparatus. From brush fires to off-road rescues, the UTV will allow our firefighters to better serve and protect the residents of Baldwin Borough and surrounding communities.

We are grateful to Norfolk Southern Railway for their support and commitment to public safety. Partnerships like these help ensure that Baldwin Fire Rescue has the tools and resources necessary to keep our community safe.

Big thank you to our sales rep Hunter Farmer at American Powersport.com, Llc (Sandusky, Ohio).

Stay tuned for updates as we outfit this vehicle over the next serveral weeks with equipment, Lighting, and striping to get the vehicle into service! πŸš’πŸ’ͺ
