Yellow Creek Volunteer Fire Department Awarded Georgia Fireworks Tax Grant

Yellow Creek, Georgia — The Yellow Creek Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Georgia Fireworks Tax Grant through the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council. The grant funding has allowed the department to purchase critical firefighting equipment that will directly improve the safety of both firefighters and the community they serve.

The equipment purchased through this grant includes the items shown in the accompanying photograph and will be used to replace aging, worn, and broken equipment while also placing new equipment into frontline service. These upgrades will enhance the department’s operational readiness and ensure firefighters have reliable tools when responding to emergencies.

The department extends its sincere appreciation to the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council for recognizing the needs of volunteer fire departments across the state. Their investment in public safety helps departments like Yellow Creek continue providing professional, dependable emergency services for years to come.

⚠️🚨⚠️🚨Pickens County Emergency Management, in coordination with county and city public safety agencies and the Pickens County Public School District, will be holding a public safety exercise at Harmony Elementary School on July 30th.

Please keep in mind that this is a drill. There will be increased public safety vehicles in this area during the exercise.
