Water has been resorted. If the water doesn’t flow instantly leave the faucet on for a moment to release any air buildup that may have occurred.

Residents on Jordan Road will experience water loss at this time due to a blown valve. The Water Department is actively working to resolve the issue. At this time there is no ETA on when water will be restored.

Residents, please be advised that the portion of Chestnut Street, from Old Canton Road to Mound Street, will be closed all day Friday, August 28, 2026.

The closure is necessary to allow the Ball Ground Water Department to complete a sewer tie-in.

Please plan ahead, use an alternate route, and allow additional travel time while this work is underway.

Qualifying for the City of Ball Ground’s 2026 General Municipal Election took place August 17-19, 2026, and seven
candidates qualified for the upcoming election.

The list below consists of the qualified candidates for Ball Ground’s General Municipal Election:

THE CITY OF BALL GROUND
2026 MUNICIPAL ELECTION

In accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-131(a)(1)(A) notice is hereby given that the qualifying fees are set at $108.00 for the mayor and $35.00 for council members. The Municipal Election will be held on November 3, 2026, to fill the following seats:

Post 1 Council Seat (Incumbent: Scott Barnes)
Post 2 Council Seat (Incumbent: Annette Homiller)
Post 3 Council Seat (Incumbent: Vicki Benefield)

Anyone desiring to run for one of these offices may qualify in the office of the City Clerk at Ball Ground City Hall located at 215 Valley Street, Ball Ground, GA 30107 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, and ending on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

Specific dates and hours are as follows:
