Celebrating Our Skidmore College See-Beyond Intern, Alexandra Lopez!

LifeWorks Community Action is grateful to Skidmore College and the See-Beyond Grant for supporting student intern Alexandra Lopez and her work with our Immigrant Services Department.

Throughout her internship, Alexandra worked alongside our team at the Saratoga Race Course, providing hands-on support to the immigrant community through weekly food distributions, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, case management, and other direct services.

Her dedication helped increase our capacity during one of our busiest times of the year. Each season, LifeWorks Immigrant Services serves approximately 300–500 individuals at the track, connecting people with food, resources, education, and support.

Alexandra brought energy, compassion, and a willingness to jump in wherever she was needed. We are so thankful for her contributions and for Skidmore College’s investment in meaningful, community-based learning.

Thank you, Alex, for your dedication to our immigrant community! We wish you all the best as you continue your college journey.

Thank You, Hannaford Helps — and Our Community!

LifeWorks Community Action is incredibly grateful to Hannaford Helps and our local Hannaford Supermarkets stores for their generous support of our Food Programs.

Our food pantry is serving more individuals and families than ever, and support like this makes a meaningful difference. Community donations and partnerships help us keep our shelves stocked and ensure that when a neighbor comes to us for food, we can be there to help.

We are so thankful to Hannaford and to everyone in our community whose generosity makes this support possible. Together, we’re helping our neighbors put food on the table and strengthening our community, one family at a time.

Thank you for supporting LifeWorks and our neighbors in need!

A Simple Way to Help Feed Our Neighbors

The next time you’re shopping at Market 32 or Price Chopper, you can help support local families right at the checkout.

Through September 5, shoppers can purchase donation bags filled with much-needed food items to support local hunger relief efforts. LifeWorks Community Action is grateful to Market 32/Price Chopper for partnering with us and helping keep our food programs stocked for neighbors throughout our community.

Our LifeWorks van is pictured here picking up donated bags—and every one represents a shopper who chose to lend a hand.

If you’re heading to Market 32 or Price Chopper, consider adding a donation bag to your purchase. It’s an easy way to make a meaningful difference and help ensure our neighbors have food on the table.

Thank you to Market 32/Price Chopper—and to everyone who purchases a bag—for being part of a community that takes care of one another.

👉 Look for the donation bags at your local Market 32 or Price Chopper through September 5.

July by the Numbers: LifeWorks Food Programs

Behind every number is a neighbor, a family and a household working to put food on the table.

In July alone, LifeWorks Food Programs provided:

• 933 pantry services
• Support for 2,589 people
• The equivalent of 31,068 meals
• 686 food deliveries directly to households
• More than 31,000 pounds of food distributed — valued at more than $52,000

And the impact stretches throughout our region.

In July, families from 18 different communities accessed food assistance through LifeWorks, with the greatest number of services reaching neighbors in Ballston Spa, Saratoga Springs, Mechanicville, Corinth and Clifton Park.

Demand continues to grow. Compared with June, July saw nearly a 12% increase in pantry services, a 13% increase in people served and almost a 16% increase in deliveries.

Thanks to our staff, volunteers, donors and community partners who make it possible for LifeWorks to continue being there when our neighbors need a little extra support.

A big thank you to Target and the Target Community Fund for supporting LifeWorks Community Action with a $5,000 grant for our Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving program.

This support comes at just the right time as we begin preparing for one of our biggest community efforts of the year. The grant will help us purchase food for Thanksgiving meals that will be shared with local families throughout Saratoga County.

Every Thanksgiving, our community comes together in an incredible way—volunteers, donors, local businesses, and neighbors all pitching in to make sure families can enjoy a holiday meal. We're grateful that Target is part of that effort.

Thank you for investing in our community and helping make Thanksgiving a little brighter for so many local families. We truly appreciate your partnership.

Help support local families by donating today. https://loom.ly/T7utU3k
