This past weekend, several fatal fires occurred across NYS communities, a sobering reminder that fire can happen anytime, anywhere.

On Thursday May 28th starting at approx. 9:45am Ballston Spa Fire Department will be hosting "Smart Choices", a crash re-enactment, in front of the Ballston Spa High School. This program is designed to show students what could happen on Prom night if they decide to either drink and drive or get in to a vehicle with someone under the influence. During this simulation there will participation by 🚔 Ballston Spa Police Department, 🚓 Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, Community Emergency Corps 🚑, Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company 🚒, LifeNet of New York 🚁 (weather permitting), Armer Funeral Home, Inc.. If you are in the area and see lights/sirens, etc. please know this is a planned event and there is no cause for concern. This is a great experience for the students to see why it's important to make the right choice not only during prom season, but every day of their lives.

Did you know you can own a piece of history locally? Thanks to O'Brien Pharmacy our 125th Anniversary book is on sale at the counter! This was written by members of our By Law committee to document where the company started and what it is today. Get them before they are gone as there is limited supply available.

🚒 Research has revealed that 53% of children charge their phone or tablet either on their bed or under their pillow. This is can be extremely dangerous.

The heat generated cannot dissipate and the charger will become hotter and hotter.

The likely result is that the pillow/bed will catch fire –placing the child (as well as everyone else in the property) in great danger. 🔥

With the approval of both the company membership and the Village of Ballston Spa Board of Trustees, Union Fire Company #2 is proud to welcome our two newest members, Ryan & Andre, to the department as Junior Firefighters.

The Ballston Spa Fire Department Junior Firefighter Program was created to introduce young people to the fire service, build leadership and civic responsibility, and help develop the next generation of dedicated community volunteers. Over the years, many of our Junior members have continued their service in the volunteer fire service, while others have gone on to careers in firefighting, law enforcement, and emergency medical services.

Please join us in welcoming Ryan & Andre to the UFC family and wishing them success as they begin their journey in the fire service!
