Eagle-Matt Lee Fire Company #1 has been proudly serving the community since 1816.

We are currently located on the south side of the Village of Ballston Spa at the corner of Washington and Bath Street. Eagle-Matt Lee Fire Company #1, along with Union Fire Company #2 together form the Ballston Spa Fire Department. We also have a very active Junior Firefighting program for young adults aged 16-18. We proudly serve the Village of Ballston Spa long with parts of the Town of Ballston and the Town of Milton.

Members took advantage of the beautiful and warm weather Monday night to get some hands-on pump operations and flow water with F 13-5 and EL 13-2.

Drill nights like these help keep our skills sharp, our equipment ready, and our crews prepared for when the call comes in. 🚒💦☀️

Congratulations Firefighter Matt Weirath on your completion of BEFO w/HMFRO-SCBA/IFO-FF1, a program requiring 109 hours of classroom and hands-on training and many more hours of personal study and practice.

This accomplishment reflects a deep commitment to service and readiness to answer the call when it matters most.

Since it's founding in 1816, Eagle-Matt Lee Fire Co. #1 has remained an all-volunteer fire company proudly staffed by community members.

Members took advantage of this evening’s warm weather to get outside for hands-on training, focusing on vehicle stabilization.

Stabilizing a vehicle is critical to keeping both patients and first responders safe by preventing any unexpected movement during rescue operations.

Our crews are always training - so when the call comes, we’re ready!

Eagle-Matt Lee Fire Co. #1, with the approval of the company membership and the Village of Ballston Spa Board of Trustees has welcomed its newest member, Michael.

Michael has joined as a member of the Junior Firefighter Program which was first established by the Ballston Spa Fire Department in 2010.

The Junior Firefighter Program was designed to introduce young people to the fundamentals of firefighting, promote civil responsibility and help build the next generation of skilled community minded volunteers. Since its inception many of the Juniors have remained in the volunteer service while some went on to become career first responders in firefighting, law enforcement, and emergency medical services.
