Applying for a passport? Our office processes new applications.
Here's what you'll need to do:
1. Complete the U.S. Passport Application (DS-11) -- available at the Saratoga County Clerk’s Office. Must be filled out in black ink.
2. Provide proof of U.S. citizenship -- original or certified copy of birth certificate (with raised seal and both parents listed) OR original Certificate of Naturalization OR previously issued United States passport (if expired for 5 or more years)
3. Provide proof of identity -- current NYS driver’s license OR Government ID/Military ID
4. Get a passport photo taken -- offered at the County Clerk’s Office for $10

Congratulations to Mukundan Rangaswamy, the organization-wide winner for our most recent Excellence In Action award! This award was focused on recognizing employees for demonstrating INITIATIVE in their work.
Mukund is our Records Information Specialist in the Records Management division.
He takes a proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and teamwork. He regularly looks beyond his assigned responsibilities to improve efficiency and support both coworkers and customers.
Within the Records Management Division, Mukund created an inventory system in Excel, enhanced it with comparative charts, and has begun developing a customized in-house inventory system tailored to the division’s needs. He also works to improve existing tools and processes used by the division.
Mukund has become a trusted technology resource who freely shares his knowledge and assists coworkers with technical issues, projects, and problem-solving. He consistently contributes ideas, takes on additional responsibilities, and helps improve and organize resources in other divisions.
In addition to his technical skills, Mukund brings a positive and collaborative attitude to the organization. He is approachable, engaging, and always willing to help others.

If you've visited the Saratoga County Clerk's Office anytime in the past few years, you've likely been greeted by Deputy Parker upon entering the building. On Friday, after 20 years of service to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Parker did his last radio call out, following a ceremony honoring his law enforcement career. He's definitely been part of our Clerk's Office family for the past four years, and we'll miss having him here. But we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement. Don't be a stranger, George!

Shoutout to the group of ladies in the County Clerk’s Office who won first place in the Table Decorating Contest at the countywide staff event yesterday! Their very creative Ghostbuster-themed design asked, “WHO YA TRYIN’ TO CALL?” and featured just a few of the questions our staff gets that aren’t actually ones we can help with (other than to give the caller another phone number).
This visionary group even had themed T-shirts made for the day, which added to the fun. Snagging that first-place trophy was just ectoplasmic-residue on the cake!
Here in the Saratoga County Clerk’s Office, we field calls for ALL kinds of things. And while we don’t register dogs, know when leaf pickup is or provide marriage certificates, we DO A LOT of things. Here are some of the services we provide:

* Property record filing
* Veterans F.A.V.O.R. program
* Notary services (FREE of charge)

Our Bicentennial Traveling Exhibit will be hosted by Halfmoon Town Hall until 6/1. The exhibit showcases Saratoga County's celebration of America's Bicentennial in 1976. It includes a display case filled with Bicentennial memorabilia and an interpretive banner detailing Bicentennial projects and events. We invite you to come explore it.

On Tuesday, our office joined the Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency the Saratoga County NY Government Board of Supervisors other county and state officials in honoring Donald L. Hersey of Providence during May’s Deceased Veteran of the Month Ceremony. Communications Director Betsy DeMars presented the family with a special citation from County Clerk Craig A. Hayner, who was unable to attend.
Donald was born on November 28, 1945, in Corinth to Louis and Mabel and attended Galway Schools.
Don entered the U.S. Marine Corps on January 29, 1965. He trained as an Engineer Equipment Operator and served as a Combat Engineer in Vietnam. After his Vietnam service, he was assigned to Company B 8th Engineer Battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC.
Don was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant on January 28, 1968. For his service he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal with 1 Star, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal with Device, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Don was self-employed doing several endeavors, bulldozing, landscaping, and a rubbish route. Later, Don was employed by the former Lockheed Martin in West Milton until he retired in 2002. He was a member of the Providence Volunteer Ambulance Corp, and the Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of American Legion Post 1461.
Don married Beverly on October 7, 1967, and together they had three children. He passed away on December 20, 2025.
