We were thrilled to send women Veterans Misty Straus and Darci Novak, who also serve as Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Case Managers at VCHC, to Assemblymember Pamela Hunter’s Annual Women Veterans Recognition Day Luncheon on Thursday, May 28.

This meaningful event began with a flag-raising ceremony at the New York State Women Veterans Memorial and concluded at the Legislative Office Building, where women Veterans from across New York were recognized for their service and presented with certificates of appreciation.

At VCHC, we are honored to work alongside incredible women Veterans like Misty and Darci every day. Their dedication to serving fellow Veterans through our SSVF program reflects the same commitment and leadership they demonstrated while serving our country.

Thank you to Assemblymember Pamela Hunter for hosting this special event and for recognizing the contributions, sacrifices, and achievements of women Veterans throughout our communities.

WOW! What an incredible transformation!

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make the new flooring installation in the break room at our administrative office possible! What started as a simple conversation with Stephen Robyck, Store Manager at Hannaford #8394, led to a connection with Gary Newell, Former Veterans & Military Impact Network Chair and Project Manager at Ahold Delhaize USA, and ultimately resulted in the generous donation and installation of beautiful new flooring by Kevin Gilligan and his amazing team at Simeone Floors, Inc.

In just TWO days, they completely transformed our space, creating a refreshed and welcoming environment for our staff. We are so grateful for the generosity, teamwork, and community support that made this project happen.

Thank you all for investing in our mission and the people behind it!

The VBC Jamboree is just around the corner and as a past participant, we wanted to be sure you were updated on this year's event.

Play Co****le - Assemble your dream team, whether it’s with your company or your pals, and battle it out for co****le glory. All co****le participants get BBQ and entertainment included with registration. Please pre-register to play online. Co****le starts at 3 p.m.

Buy Delicious BBQ - Not into competition? Then just join the fun and leave the workday behind with BBQ from Dizzy Chicken and live music by J Yager from 4:30-6 p.m. Purchase a BBQ dinner for yourself and your family or friends and enjoy the evening with some great music and good food. Even if you can't stay, you can get it to go to support the cause. Pre-purchase your tickets online.

Shelley is a valued member of our Support Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) team who works every day to support Veterans and their families as they navigate housing challenges and connect with critical resources.

Through our SSVF program, Shelley and our team serve Veterans across Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Schenectady, Fulton, Montgomery, and Schoharie counties, helping them move from crisis to stability.

We provide support with:
Housing assistance
Rental assistance
Benefits procurement
Service connection
Food insecurity support
Employment assistance
Education support
