The clocks sprang forward, the snow melted, and March has wrapped up. ⏰🌷

The dedicated providers at Community had another steady month, averaging over 7 calls per day in March, totaling 233 calls for service. Over two-thirds of these calls resulted in a patient transport where our fleet traveled over 1,500 miles. 🚑

🗓️ With the first quarter of 2026 complete, Community Emergency Corps has received 749 calls. Our dedicated EMTs and Paramedics remain ready to answer the call, as warmer weather approaches! ☀️

We are saddened by the passing of Mia Morris, a Nurse and Nursing Supervisor at Albany Medical Center, who bravely battled breast cancer. Since 2024, proceeds from CEC’s Breast Cancer Awareness shirts have gone toward supporting Mia in her fight. Her strength inspired so many, and her impact will not be forgotten. As shared in her obituary: “Mia’s legacy is one of love, courage, and dedication. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her - a beacon of hope and strength.”

We also mourn the unexpected loss of Anthony “Tony” Nardone, a well-known and respected EMS provider who devoted his life to serving his community. Tony’s compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting mark on countless lives. He was not only a provider, but a friend, a mentor, and someone who truly embodied the spirit of service.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of both Mia and Tony. Their legacies of compassion, strength, and service will continue to live on in the communities they so faithfully served.

Rest easy, we’ll take it from here. 🕊️

A big thank you to our friends at Ballston Spa Fire Department for stopping by to lend a hand with our flags this week. 🇺🇸

Their crew helped untangle our flags and get our new American flag properly raised and flying proudly in front of the station.

Thank you BSFD! 🚒🤝🚑

This past Saturday, Executive Director Edwards represented CEC at the Ballston Spa Central School District Health & Wellness Fair. 🩺

She even had the opportunity to catch up with Senator Jim Tedisco, an outspoken supporter of first responders and promoting healthy choices in our communities! 💪

Snow, ice, and freezing temps didn’t slow us down in February. ❄️

Through winter storms and bitter cold, Community Emergency Corps averaged just over 8 calls per day, transported 160 patients to area hospitals, and drove nearly 1,400 miles to make sure help arrived when our community called us. 🚑

Thank you to our providers for braving the elements and to our community for your continued trust. Warmer days are ahead, but our commitment never changes.

🚑 National Recognition for Life-Saving Care ❤️🧠

Community Emergency Corps has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Silver Achievement Award for our commitment to delivering rapid, evidence-based care to patients experiencing severe heart attacks and strokes.

This award recognizes EMS agencies that consistently meet national benchmarks for early identification, timely treatment, and coordinated care - starting when 911 is called and continuing through transport to the hospital. These critical steps help reduce treatment delays and improve patient outcomes when every second matters.

We’re incredibly proud of our providers who put proven guidelines into practice every day to give our patients the best possible chance at survival. Thank you to our team for their dedication, training, and teamwork that make this level of care possible. 💪👏

Even as Winter Storm Fern rolled through, our crews continued responding to calls for help, safely transporting patients and serving our community. Weather doesn’t pause emergencies, and it doesn’t stop this team.

A huge thank you to our dedicated crews who came in, suited up, and answered the call despite the conditions.

And thank you to the DPW and highway crews working nonstop to keep roads passable and responders moving.

Stay safe and stay warm! 💙
