Hand raised into the air, senior Lauren Anstrom watches as her graduation cap flies along with the caps of all her peers. Anstrom hopes to leave behind the legacy as someone who was kind, hardworking, and always supportive of others. “Tossing my graduation cap honestly felt surreal. In that moment, everything hit me at once with all the excitement, relief, and a little sadness too. It felt really emotional [because] this was the end of such a big chapter of my life, but also exciting knowing that everyone was about to start a completely new journey,” Anstrom said.

Embracing one of her final moments on her home field, senior Julia Kiffer leaps through the senior night banner before kickoff on May 12. After spending four years in the Parkway West girls' soccer program, Kiffer reflected on the relationships and lessons she gained throughout her high school career. “It means a lot to be a part of the program, because I met so many great people and learned how to be a good teammate, friend and person,” Kiffer said.

On stage in one of his last performances, senior Preston Wehrmeister smiles as he sings “Take On Me” in the Singers’ Choice choir concert on May 5. Wehrmeister participated in the jazz choir for all four years and has enjoyed every moment. “We got to work on it the entire semester. We sang it at our jazz coffee house, and then we got to sing it for a third time. Choir was definitely worth it. It was a lot of work, and there was a lot of effort we had to put in, but it was definitely worth it,” Wehrmeister said.

Sitting in the police patrol car, junior Greysen Wiseman smiles as she participates in an arrest simulation in her Crime and Law class on April 28. Wiseman was one of the few people who volunteered to get into the back of Officer Paubel’s car. “It was a really interesting experience to go through, because I understand that this does happen to some people in real life. I hope it never happens to me, but it was nice to know what to do and what not to do,” Wiseman said.

Among the shelves in the library, junior Zowie Hrabak searches for a book on April 22. Hrabak remained curious about topics like history and English. "I tried to look for things that I have no prior knowledge about. Anything that I could learn or gain from those things were interesting to me. I was most passionate about [exploring] humanity and society," Hrabak said.

Eyes on the crossbar, sophomore Harrison Hughes prepares for his 12-foot jump. Hughes is in his second year of track, and recently cleared 13 feet pole vaulting. “I had some shin splints going on, so I was a little bit worried [about this jump]. I’ve been pressing well, so I’m feeling good about the season,” Hughes said.

With pressure from two Lafayette players, senior Kate McCammon takes the ball to the goal. Varsity girls lacrosse held teacher appreciation night on Apr. 8, and McCammon was excited to boost the team's energy with an exciting play. “No matter what the score is, the more we work, the more we connect. Hard work is what creates a good outcome, so I’m excited to see that happen,” McCammon said.

Reaching high, senior Max Moore goes for a shot against Parkway Central on Mar. 23, with a final score of 14-2. Boys' water polo has been working hard in practice in hopes of reaching a team goal of making it to state, as well as Moore’s individual goal of breaking the school's goal record. “We’re all trying really hard and putting in a lot of effort. I think we’ll be able to put together some strong competition for other teams and put up good numbers,” Moore said.
