But McCray, who recently donated money to Jealous, called him a different type of candidate. “He’s not an elected official taking a traditional route; he’s on a nontraditional route,” McCray said. “You are not going to beat a popular governor by taking a traditional route.”

After a decisive primary win, the Democratic nominee for governor has struggled to raise money and get his message out.

McFadden from his East Baltimore seat, raised just shy of $104,000 in the past year and topped $127,000 in cash on hand – a healthy haul. There is no more sacred trust placed in us as leaders in Maryland than ensuring that the next generation of children has every opportunity to be successful in life.
