Last Saturday was a busy day. In addition to hosting the Perfect Attendance Party at Shake & Bake, I also attended the 5th Anniversary of Power of the Pen Author's Expo, founded and hosted by one of our distinguished 4th district residents, Dr. Eric Holmes.

It was my honor to present him with a recognition award from the City for this milestone. Please help me congratulate Dr. Holmes, once again! 💪🏾⭐️💯

Happy Eid Al Adha Mubarak! Today, I had the opportunity to celebrate with members of our Muslim community at Masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen.

Baltimore’s strength comes from the diversity of its people, cultures, and faith traditions. I’m grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to join in a day centered on faith, sacrifice, community, and service.

Wishing peace, joy, and blessings to all those celebrating Eid!

This weekend, I was proud to join Glenn “Shake & Bake” Doughty in celebrating more than 360 Baltimore City students for achieving PERFECT ATTENDANCE. 🎉📚

Too often, we only talk about young people when something goes wrong. This event was about highlighting what’s going right.

These students showed discipline, consistency, and commitment every single day throughout the school year, and that deserves recognition.

As I continue pushing legislation to study the root causes of truancy and chronic absenteeism in Baltimore City, I believe we also have a responsibility to celebrate the students who are setting the standard. We have to understand why students are disconnecting from school, while also encouraging and uplifting the young people who continue to show up every day.

Attendance matters. Showing up matters. And Baltimore should be proud of these young people. 💙

This hearing is a critical step toward strengthening independent oversight in Baltimore City. We need residents, advocates, and stakeholders in the room, virtually or in person, to make it clear that accountability matters.

Honored to attend the Blessing & Dedication of the new Holy Family Catholic Worker Outreach Ministry in Southwest Baltimore today! 🙏 It was inspiring to see Archbishop William E. Lori dedicate this vital resource hub, inspired by Dorothy Day, and initiated by Health by Southwest.
