Did you know that if you stacked all 4,231 unique banned books from the 2023-2024 school year, they would reach the height the Empire State Building?

We urgently need your help to stop this trend. Let’s stand together to protect our school libraries this GivingTuesday.

Thank you to all the volunteers today, both Friends of the Canton Library and those from M&T Bank. We weeded, composted, and mulched the gardens during the last 2 weeks, even with all the rain. The Canton Library gardens are looking really good. This is truly a group effort. The library gardens are maintained without chemicals so we are bay and environment friendly. We planted some seeds today so we are hoping for lots of color this year. Need seeds, stop by the library and pick some up from the seed library. Need a book to help you get started on your garden and tree pits? Pick up a book at the Pratt. Want to help us maintain the gardens? Please let us know in the comments. We hope to see many lovely pops of color throughout southeast Baltimore. Happy gardening.

A little rain will be good for the plants. The event is still on. Hope to see you at 11 AM at the Canton Library.
