200th Transportation Detachment- Movement Control

200th Transportation Detachment- Movement Control Keep it Moving! Transportation as a function has existed from the beginning of American military history.

Since the Revolutionary War, Army transportation had evolved through two branches, the Quartermaster Corps and the Corps of Engineers. The demands of World War I made the Army first realize its need for a single manager for military transportation. So began an evolution over the next quarter-century that culminated in the birth of the Transportation Corps during the opening months of World War II.

Movement control is a critical function in both garrison and combat operations; however, its role becomes even more essential during combat. It provides sustainers and warfighters with in-transit visibility (ITV) of cargo, equipment, and personnel along lines of communication into and out of the theater of operations.

From PMI- Preliminary Marksmanship Instruction to the range day, 200th MCT crushed the new Army Marksmanship Qualification with 100% passing rate and yes, even on a rainy day.

The new course replace the current marksmanship qualification course with one that requires Soldiers to engage targets faster and to operate as they would during an enemy engagement.

Let’s recognize the Hero of the Battle during the validation exercise- SPC Sesay has been awarded with a coin from a senior commissioned officer for performing an outstanding job above his peers.

What does it mean to be given a command coin?

“Honoring someone with a Commander's coin is a way for senior leadership to show their appreciation for a phenomenal job on the spot. It is more than just a thank you or a pat on the back, it is something tangible to remember the moment by.”

In the United States Army Reserve, the Selected Reserve is the component of the Reserve most readily available for call-up to active duty.

The Department of Defense's total force policy recognizes that active and reserve U.S. military forces should be readily available to support military operations.

Reserve forces, once considered to be forces of last resort, are now recognized as indispensable to the nation's defense from the earliest days of a conflict and throughout the each military campaign.

The bracelets are engraved with the names of friends who have died, typically in combat. The reason why someone wears the bracelet is to remember, to never forget. Many active and former military people wear this bracelet as a remembrance of someone who they served with and who they may have been with when they were killed forming a bond that many will never understand. It’s a way to carry on their brother/sister's memory.
