12 Major Amtrak projects across the Northeast Corridor will receive nearly $10 B in federal grants from the FRA!

This funding will help advance Amtrak’s plans to modernize America’s busiest rail corridor and support future ridership growth as we advance work to replace aging tunnels, bridges and tracks – many of which are 100+ years old.

Another 13 crucial partner projects also received funding, including the Hudson Tunnel (led by the Gateway Development Commission), Penn Station Access (led by MTA) and more!

These new grant awards are a major step in delivering on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act’s (IIJA) vision for expanded and improved passenger rail. This comes on the heels of another set of grant awards for Amtrak that totaled $200 M in September.
