Our Story

Frankford Improvement Association, Inc. has served all of Gardenville, Cedonia, Frankford, Moravia, Parkside communities in advocating zoning issues, housing issues, health and safety concerns, educa- tional and all matters to ensure that quality of life issues positively affected the residents within the geographical boundaries of the organization. The Cedonia Frankford organization was developed with many members of St Anthony Catholic Church, the Northeast Policemen who resided within the communities and often met at the Cedonia Inn which is located on Moravia Road. The area of Blair Rd now known as Bel Air Road divided Gardenville which was within the town of Raspeburg Maryland which sometimes is still referred as Raspeburg , Maryland. Frankford was the community Association that existed for the area from the middle of White Ave to the Middle of the Herring Run Stream and back to Route 40 E at the city/county line as listed with the state of Maryland as a non-profit non stock incorporation May 21, 1959 and still maintain that boundary area as its legal community. Recently others formed within Frankford Improvement Association boundaries to provide immediate residents within their areas to voice immediate concerns affecting the neighborhoods. First was Parkside Community Association, Inc. which began before 1959 but only designated a small immediate area which was incorporated witin the FIA boundaries Gardenville Neighborhoods, Cedonia Community Association, afterwards Valley Park, most recently Gardenville Community. Hazelwood is and has been within the boundaries of FIA as well as Valiquet.

Within the boundaries of Frankford Improvement, Association, Inc. is Hazelwood which is a very historical section of the past history of our FIA communities.
