Expenses continue to rise.

If saving money is a resolution – maybe its time to try homesharing.
Homesharers are housing justice heroes.

We need homeowners in Baltimore City and Baltimore County who have extra room in their home and want to earn extra income.
We are a leader in the Homesharing community, using a proven match process developed over 35 years + many of our matches have lasted for years.

Please consider a year end gift to St. Ambrose today at www.stambros.org/donate. Your generosity is more than charity - it is an investment in safety, security, and equity for our neighbors.

For many Baltimore families this has been a tumultuous year - food and job insecurity tops the list of challenges that confront our neighbors and cuts to public funding means working parents can’t afford housing, grandparents are choosing between rent and medicine, and families are losing their stability.

Together we can work to make things right. Your gift today can stop a foreclosure notice from creating homelessness: restore peace for a family spending their first holiday in a new apartment; show a young person in crisis that their future is full of possibilities.

As this year draws to a close, we hope you are surrounded by warmth, love, and community.

Thank you for considering a gift in 2025, your support brings hope and dignity to thousands of families in our community.

We believe everyone in Baltimore deserves a place to call home.

This Giving Tuesday, would you consider supporting St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center's programs at www.stambros.org/donate?

Your support provides free, high-quality housing counseling and legal assistance so that hundreds of homeowners, like Mr. Brown, have the best chance at saving their homes from the threat of foreclosure.

Last year, we shared Mr. Brown's story in this video: https://youtu.be/2Y7A1PrI7mk?si=lgpjV6fIINibNJre.

In 2023, after a serious case of COVID cost him his job and pushed him into a financial struggle, he refused to give up on his home. He took action, reached out to St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center (St. Ambrose), and teamed up with experienced and knowledgeable HUD-certified housing counselors to fight back against foreclosure.

Mr. Brown actively worked with counselors to understand every option on the table and choose the best path forward. With support and a clear plan, he enrolled in utility and tax programs that now save him money every year. His persistence turned a short-term emergency into a more sustainable financial future.

Last week we caught up with Mr. Brown and he let us know that all is well.

“The mental strain of the foreclosure was a lot. That is lifted off of me, everything is good.”

Mr. Brown enjoys gathering with family in the house he has called home for over 25 years. He most enjoys time with his grandchildren, who love being at his home - playing in the yard when the weather is right, building tents indoors, and finding creative ways to play in the home he fought to protect.

This year, St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center provided affordable housing to 914 people.

A gift of any size that you make to St. Ambrose will help us provide trusted housing counseling to first-time homebuyers, affordable housing options for neighbors who might otherwise be priced out, and legal assistance and home repairs to keep our neighbors in their home of choice.

Donate today or on Giving Tuesday, which is one week away on December 2nd, at www.stambros.org/donate.

Your gift will help clients like Anita, a 69-year-old Baltimore homeowner, who has long taken pride in maintaining her brick rowhome and contributing to a close-knit block where neighbors look out for one another.

After being diagnosed with stage three cancer, her health and finances declined, forcing her to defer critical home repairs until a leaking roof and a rat infestation left her home badly damaged and unsafe. Aging, broken fixtures, failing plumbing, cracked windows that compromised security, and a deteriorating back porch made daily tasks difficult and dangerous.

When Anita connected with St. Ambrose, staff created a repair plan, sealed holes, replaced windows, rebuilt the back deck and porch with added railings, and fully renovated her bathroom while also linking her to utility assistance. Anita now feels safe in her home again and says she feels good about the future.

Together, we can ensure that our neighbors, like Anita, have not just a place to live, but a place they are proud to call home.
