Our annual carnival was a huge success!

Our youth had the entire afternoon to enjoy some fun in the sun. Our campus was filled with exciting activities, including a giant water slide, a gaming theater, a dunk tank, and amazing tricks performed by a magician. We also had a wide variety of snacks and food options, including food trucks, funnel cakes, popcorn, snow cones, and more!

The event gave everyone the opportunity to relax, have fun, and make lasting memories. Our youth truly enjoyed spending time together and taking part in all the festivities.

Thank you to the Thomas Wilson Foundation for making our 7th Annual Summer Carnival an amazing experience year after year!

This month, we recognize our amazing Finance and Facilities staff! Both teams enjoyed a great evening together, playing games, sharing good food, and engaging in a competitive game of bowling.

We are incredibly grateful for all that they do. Whether they are fixing things around campus or helping staff manage budgets, they are truly the backbone of keeping our campus running smoothly.

Shoutout to them for their hard work and dedication each and every day!

At a young age, Bridey Thelen-Heidel (Bright Eyes-A Memoir by Bridey Thelen Heidel) knew something wasn't right.

While most kids were concerned about homework and spending time with friends, Bridey was navigating abuse, neglect, instability, and responsibilities far beyond her years. The challenges were significant, and the path forward was anything but clear.

In this episode of the In This Family podcast, Bridey shares how she overcame a difficult childhood, learned to prioritize her well-being, and built the safe, stable life she always deserved.

Her story is a powerful reminder that our circumstances do not determine our destiny, and that strength, healing, and growth are possible even after the hardest beginnings.

Today, we were excited to welcome the newest hires to our Youth Work Program! We are incredibly proud of these young people, who showed initiative, demonstrated a strong interest in gaining work experience, and earned a position in the program.

The Youth Work Program provides youth with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment, where they learn the importance of responsibility, dedication, punctuality, teamwork, and effective communication.

Congratulations to our newest hires! We look forward to seeing them thrive in the program, develop valuable new skills, and prepare for future opportunities.

Our youth had the pleasure of attending the Whiting-Turner High School Internship College Fair.

As a sponsor of our Youth Work Program, Whiting-Turner has provided many valuable opportunities this year, and we are incredibly grateful for their support. This event allowed our students to learn about different careers, discuss their interests and talents, and spend time off campus with the Whiting-Turner team.

Thank you for investing in our youth and supporting our efforts to restore hope and reshape futures.

Our youth participated in a new creative activity, called Mission Impossible. Our staff did the honors of setting this up so that youth can test their flexibility and balance as they attempt to complete a string-based obstacle course without touching any of the strings.

Seeing them try their hardest to complete this successfully and get through the course was interesting to see. Their determination and different techniques allowed them to truly enjoyed the experience and had fun doing it with their peers.

Last week, we honored our Youth Care Professionals with a full red-carpet dining experience. They had the opportunity to stop by, play games, enjoy music, win prizes, and enjoy a delicious meal. It was such a pleasure to create a special ambiance for our hardworking staff. The room was filled with balloons, rose petals, and an actual red carpet.

To ensure that everyone had the opportunity to feel appreciated, we hosted this event for our daytime, overnight, and weekend staff. Seeing the surprise on their faces was priceless as we cheered for them upon their arrival and recognized them for the incredible work they do.

Thank you to all of our staff who joined forces to create this unforgettable experience, as well as our Executive Assistant, who was the visionary behind the setup and décor. We are incredibly grateful for our Youth Care Professionals and everyone on campus who takes pride in their work and contributes to our mission each day.
