The program has an extraordinary 30-year record of preventing children's health problems and improving their long-term health, growth and development. WIC scored second highest in customer satisfaction among 30 high impact government programs in a recent survey. WIC serves over 8.2 million women, infants and children through over 10,000 clinics nationwide. In 2007, Maryland WIC served over 130,000
women, infants and children each month.
