Please keep our brother Steve in your thoughts. Steve is a dedicated member of Engine 33 D shift and has served with the Baltimore City Fire Department since 2015. On Tuesday, Steve suffered the tragic and unexpected loss of his 10 year old son Pierce.

When Pierce was two, he was involved in a terrible car accident that left him with a severe traumatic brain injury. In the years that followed, Steve fought tirelessly to provide for his son and ensure he received the care he required. Now it’s our turn to fight for Steve.

B-Shift congratulates 2nd Battalion Chief Glenn Kukucka on working his final shift with us after 40 years of service to City. His career spanned Firefighter at Engine 5, EVD at Truck 22, Lieutenant at Engine 14, Captain at Engine 53, Floating Battalion Chief in the 3rd, and finishing 2nd Battalion.

1/3/26 T5 responded to box alarm T5-63 for the report of a dwelling fire. Enroute units were advised that there were multiple callers with reports of people trapped. Units arrived to find fire showing from the first floor of a 3 story MOG dwelling. An agressive interior attack and aggressive search efforts contained the fire to the first floor and 2nd floor stairwell, while all searches proved negative.
