In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dedication to others, we are joined by local Foster Grandparents with Family and Childrens Services of Central Maryland to thank local veterans and give them all a small gift. Congratulations to all of the tremendous volunteers and community leaders honored last night at the Delaware Governor's Service Awards in Dover, Delaware. We were humbled to spend the evening with such inspiring and selfless volunteers who tirelessly serve communities throughout Delaware.

We would like to send a special shout-out to Senior Corps grantee, First State Community Action Agency, for receiving an award in the Healthy Futures category for their outstanding Senior Companion Program. The Senior Companion Program at First State has been in existence for 37 years and serves more than 137 clients across the state of Delaware. Thank you and congratulations!

We would also like to say congratulations to award recipient of the Paul Wilkinson Lifetime Achievement Award, Ann Russell, for giving back to Delaware youth for 33 years as a Foster Grandparent Program volunteer. Ann is also a military veteran who served in WWII. You are a role model for us all, Ann. Thank you and congratulations!

Also, thank you very much to the Volunteer Delaware team, Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), and Governor John Carney for both inviting us to attend and for putting on a great event.
