5mins without technology was a breeze for this group! Could you lock your phone away for 5mins?

Did you know, prioritizing “green time” over screen time can significantly reduce stress?

Parks & People visited the Baltimore Museum of Art to see Rachel Lee Hovnanian: Nature Deficit Disorder, an immersive exhibit encouraging us to unplugged and reconnect to the natural world.

When was the last time you unplugged?

This exhibit ends May 31st but the BMA is not the only place where you can be immersed in nature while in Baltimore City. Discover local community parks and other green spaces on our website parksandpeople.org/parks-projects

(P.S. this exhibit smells wonderful 🌲🌲🌲)

Thank you to the BMA for providing us this opportunity to visit the Spring House and see this exciting exhibit!

Continuing the work at Whitelock Community Farm, Moseley .designs completed a day of service supporting the Reservoir Hill community!

Volunteers de-weeded the pollinator flower beds, watered flowerbeds and seedlings, watered the compost, mowed the lawns, and picked up litter.

Corporate volunteering builds stronger teams, deepens purpose, and creates real, lasting impact where it matters most.

This must be the place

Campus bathed in evening light filtered through green leaves, I am reminded no filter is needed only presence—a little time and a watchful eye to capture the moment.

🌱 We need to touch grass and here’s why:

A healthy and strong community requires a healthy and strong enviornment.

Green spaces bring many social, environmental, and economic benefits to urban landscapes.

Studies have shown that taking a walk in parks has been found to reduce stress by lowering cortisol (the stress hormone) levels by 15%.

Green spaces act as natural air purifiers, absorbing pollutants and releasing oxygen.

Cultivating wonder in urban areas, through green spaces, can significantly contribute to lifelong learning by fostering a continuous sense of curiosity and engagement with the environment.

Every day is Earth Day and a chance to deepen our connection with the natural world.

Do you have accessible community green spaces in your neighborhood?
