Hello Empowerment Academy Families!

Many of you have expressed interest in volunteering and/or being a chaperone. In order to volunteer and/or chaperone, you will need to set up an account in the Partners in Education (PIE) Portal.

You can access the PIE Portal here and set up your account here: https://bcpss.ezcommunicator.net/edu/bcpss/ezcomm/VolunteerRegistration.aspx?app=0.

Once your account is set up, your name will be checked against the MD S*x Offender Registry you will be notified when you’re approved. If you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis (four times per month or more) and with students, please contact me because you will need to complete a full background check with Baltimore City Public Schools, at no cost to you. You do not need a background check to chaperone a field trip.

Also, there is an orientation video that must be watched before you can volunteer or chaperone. It is located at the end of the PIE Portal application form.

You may contact me at [email protected] or 443-863-8613 should you have question or need additional information.
