Cooking fires are the leading cause of home fires, but many can be prevented. Stay in the kitchen while cooking, keep children at least three feet away from the stove, and turn pot handles inward. Keep a lid nearby to safely smother a grease fire; never use water. Stay alert, take precautions, and cook safely!
