As we close out AAPI Heritage Month, we’re spotlighting Colonel Ryan Lee of the Baltimore Police Department.

His great-grandfather immigrated from China, changing his last name to β€œLee” as part of the sacrifice to come to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream.

Today, Colonel Lee speaks on representation, identity, and the importance of building trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. As a Chinese American leader in policing, he reminds us that representation can make all the difference.
