After several years of fighting their way into the championship only to fall just short, Baltimore Company Barbarians(1B3) has finally claimed the Washington D.C.-Baltimore Recruiting Battalion Turkey Bowl crown!

This year’s squad showed resilience, discipline, and heart from start to finish—refusing to let history repeat itself.

Guiding the way was Catonsville’s own SFC Juan Howard, whose leadership and energy pushed 1B3 to rise above every challenge and close out the win they’ve been chasing for years.

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Yesterday we had our farewell and promotion ceremony for our Fearless Leader Joshua Walker. He was promoted from Staff Sergeant to Sergeant First Class. He is the definition of a leader. He inspired, motivated and mentored not only his recruiters in Catonsville but recruiters in other stations too. Congratulations on your well deserved promotion. We hate to see you leave but we all wish you and your family nothing but the best on your next journey. 🥳💪

We had the pleasure of taking some of the future soldiers in our company to the EST Range. The Engagement Skills Trainer (EST) is a laser-based system that trains soldiers for marksmanship and fire control in a controlled environment. The EST provides feedback to the individual, fire team, or squad, and simulates training events that lead to live-fire qualification. The EST reduces range and live fire fees, and allows soldiers to see where they’re shooting before firing live rounds.
