The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Bamberg County until 9:45 p.m.

1โ€“3 inches of rain have already fallen
An additional 1โ€“3 inches of rain are expected
โš ๏ธ Please use extreme caution if you must travel.

DO NOT drive through flooded roadways or around barricades. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away, and flooded roads may be washed out beneath the surface.
If you encounter:

๐ŸŒŠ Flooded roadways or other hazardous conditions.

At 642 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Barnwell, Bamberg, Denmark, Williston, Blackville, Barnwell State Park, Springfield, Hilda, Salley, Neeses, Norway, Snelling, Olar, Elko, Windsor, Cope, Govan, Bamberg County Airport, Barnwell County Airport and Aiken Gopher Tortoise Heritage Preserve.
